Cora Smith Riley, age 90 of Cannon was born in Knox County, KY on May 7, 1934 to the late Letch and Laura Townsley Smith and departed this life on June 9, 2024 in the Baptist Health of Corbin. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and enjoyed Quilting, sewing, shopping and time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, her husband: Virgil Riley; grandson: Chris Jarvis; 3 brothers: Beechel Smith, Fount Smith, and Otis Smith; and 2 sisters: Natalie Caldwell, and Elizabeth Mills preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving son: Pearl Jarvis, Jr. and fiancé Norma Smith of Cannon; 3 sisters: Alice Jordan of Corbin, and Nettie Garrison and husband J D, and Roxie Mills all of Barbourville; a step grandson: Tim Sergent; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Cora Riley will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gary Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Blevins Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2.
