Mr. Clinton Mills, 87, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday morning, June 29, 2024 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was the son of the late Clark and Nancy Baker Mills born on December 22, 1936 at Jeff’s Creek.
On December 1, 1957, he united in marriage with Geneva Sizemore in Claiborne County, TN.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Springfield Baptist Church and former president of the Southern Labor Union. He enjoyed riding horses and four-wheelers, gardening and visiting friends, but he most enjoyed playing with and spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva; a daughter, Gloria Ellenburg; a son, Donnie Mills; son-in-law, Charlie Mills; great granddaughter, Caroline Morgan Mills and a great-great grandson, Cooley Ray Williamson.
Survivors include his loving children, Reda Morgan and husband, Phillip, of Barbourville, Charles “Buster” Mills and wife, Hazel, of Bimble and Rhonda Hobbs and husband, Colby, of Bimble; god-daughters, Chawntay Gilmore of Corbin and Angela Roberts of Barbourville; a brother, Delmar Mills of Corbin; grandchildren, Tabitha Smith and husband, Tony, Dylan Mills and wife, Caitlin, Cody Mills and wife, Jenna, Jody Gray and husband, Randy, Mike Mills and wife, Ashley, Angie Williamson and husband, Lonnie “Peanut”, Shelia Hood and Shane Baker and wife, Breanna; great grandchildren, Charli Beth, Claire, Colt, Cami, Jayden, Tyler, Matthew, Clarissa, Riley, Ali, Madi, Kari Beth, Tanner, Miranda, Whitney, Casey, Jeremiah, Sadie Rae, Sherman, Breanna, Isaac and Ethan; great-great grandchildren, Benjamin, Isaac, Lily, Indie Jane, Georgia, Avery, Lincoln, Mallary, Tanner, Melanie, Riley, Paisley, Everleigh, Bo Elliott, Stetson, Neiamiah, Caisyn, Conner, Carson, Mayalah and Bailey; a host of precious nieces and nephews; special friends, Cleveland Mills and Rick Daniels; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, July 3 at 6 P.M. with Rev. Lonnie Tuttle officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Sizemore Cemetery at Bimble.
Casket bearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary bearers will be James David Baker, Arnold Roberts, Bill Gilmore, C. J. Mills and Curtis Mills.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Barbourville ARH Hospital, especially Dr. West, Dr. Adams, Tammy Burchett, Sondra Rhodes and Trinity Blevins.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday after 5 P.M. until the funeral hour.
