Mr. Christopher Donald Messer, 54, of Heidrick, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was the son of Shirley Girdner McCreary born on August 2, 1970 in Dayton, OH.
Christopher was a former welder and attended the Highland Park Baptist Church. He enjoyed landscaping and loved spending time outdoors fishing and deer hunting.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Randolph and Bertha Girdner.
Survivors include his loving mother, Shirley McCreary of Barbourville; a special cousin who he loved like a sister, Becca Price of Richmond; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Doolin Cemetery Saturday, October 5 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating.
Casket bearers will be family and friends. Serving as honorary bearers will be Harold and Carol Bray.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday after 12 Noon until 1:30 P.M., at which time family and friends will travel in procession to the cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
