Chelcia Smith age 72, of Hinkle, Kentucky departed this earthly plane on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at her home. She was born on February 15, 1949 in Otter Creek, Kentucky, and was the youngest daughter of Dave Smith and Louise (Hubbard) Smith.
Chelcia was a pianist and founding member of the Free Spirit Baptist Church. She retired from General Dynamics Information Technology in Barbourville, Kentucky in October 2018. She was a loyal fan of U.K. Basketball and Elvis Presley.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Dave and Louise Smith along with five sisters, Thelma Swafford, Alma Jordan, Evelyn Liford, Flonnie Hale and Callie Merida.
Left behind to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Kim Anderson and husband Jeff and Dena Dunbar and husband Eric and one beloved son, Adam Smith and partner Eric Daniels all of Barbourville. A very special granddaughter, Amber Bigbie and husband Chris of Richmond, and three grandsons, Christian Bruce and wife Whitney, Tyler Ledford and wife Amanda and Connor Bruce and wife Chy all of Barbourville. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Leah, Emma, Carter, Jordyn, Carsyn, Marley, and Ellie in addition to several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. for a walk-through visitation and services will be held shortly afterward at the Barbourville Cemetery with Rev. David Lawson, Rev. Christian Bruce and Rev. Tyler Ledford officiating. Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, grandsons, and a nephew. Honorary pallbearers are two brothers-in-law, Felix Hale and Arvil Jordan.
