Obituary for Charlotte Ann Smith (1951-2020)

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Smith, 68, of Bimble, passed away Thursday evening October 1, 2020 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Jack B. and Imogene West Mills born on November 11, 1951 in Pineville.

Charlotte was the well-known manager of the Tobacco Stop Outlet and a member of the Walker Baptist Church.  She enjoyed working, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, attending various Knox Central sporting events and especially supporting her grandchildren in their hobbies and interests.

On April 29, 1965, she united in marriage with Eugene Smith Jr. and to this union three children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Smith; a son, Cecil “Bo” Smith; three brothers, James, Lowell and Ronnie Mills and Sharron Davis, who was like a sister to her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Eugene Smith Jr. of Bimble; a daughter, Dee Wilson and husband, Bruce, of Gray; beloved grandchildren, Brittany Blackburn and husband, Roger, of Centerburg, OH, Corey Gilmore and wife, Megan, of Georgetown, Emilyann Wilson of Gray and Madison Taylor of Bimble; great grandchildren, Averi and Ethan Blackburn; Londa Sowders, who was like a sister, and husband, Larry; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, October 5 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Keith “Buster” Liford, Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Rev. Larry Sowders officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Liford Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Zach Mills, Donnie Cox, Roger Blackburn, Curtie Corey, Will Dunaway and Tony Mills.  Honorary bearers will be her co-workers at the Tobacco Stop Outlet.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
