Mrs. Charlotte Ann Baty, 78, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday evening, December 14, 2019 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Home Lee and Mary Foley Carroll born on March 29, 1941 at Kay Jay.
Charlotte was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing the lottery and in earlier years walking in town.
On February 14, 1977, she united in marriage with Joseph V. Baty.
Left to mourn her passing, along with her beloved husband is her brother, Richard Lee Carroll and wife, Connie, of Venice, FL; a step-daughter, Janice Hatfield and husband, Stanley, of Ringgold, GA and their daughter, Sabrina Emerson; a nephew, Richard Lee Carroll Jr. and wife, Adrienne; great niece and nephews, Chloe, Connor and Chandler Carroll all of Lexington; a first cousin, who was like a sister to her, Wanda Detherage Combs of Huntsville, AL. Wanda and Charlotte were born on the same day and liked to joke that one was three hours older than the other. Additionally a best friend for many years, Susan Lindemann of Palm Bay, FL; a neighbor and friend of many years, Curt Evans; a cousin and beloved caregiver, Linda Foley Girdner; Connie’s daughters, Lori, Ereka and Marti; among other cousins, loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, December 17 at 2 P.M. with Winston Carroll and Rev. Eli Broughton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Jim Tom Foley, Dennis Foley, Greg Foley, David Green, Richie Carroll, Dalton Owens, Mitchell Buchanan and Sam Buchanan.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
