Obituary for Charlie Johnson, Jr. (1940-2021)

Charlie Johnson, Jr. age 80 of Flat Lick was born in Bell County, KY on December 25, 1940 to the late Charlie Johnson, Sr. and Mossie Bullett Johnson and departed this life on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the Hazard ARH Hospital.  He was a member of Hazel Fork Holiness Church and enjoyed working, taking walks, Squirrel hunting, Camping, Sunday drives, eating out, and time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, a daughter: Debbie Johnson, a grandson: Brandon Baker; a granddaughter: Teresa Baker; a brother: Cork Johnson; and 4 sisters: Geraldine Christopher, Mick Patterson, Bobbie Johnson, and Gerry Lynn Johnson preceded him in death.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife: Mary Johnson of Flat Lick; 5 daughters: Tammy Baker and Pat Mills and husband Paul all of Pineville, Rhoda Taylor and husband Doug of Bell County, Angie Bryant of Heidrick, and Hope Sturdivant of Flat Lick; a son: Charlie Johnson, III of Flat Lick; 5 brothers: James Johnson and wife Sharon, Joe Johnson, Van Johnson and wife Martine, Freddie Johnson and wife Irene, and Ricky Johnson and wife Angel all of Pineville; 3 sisters: Penney Ray and husband James of VA, Charlotte Johnson of Gray Hawk, and Donnie Perry of Manchester; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie Johnson, Jr. will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Freddie Johnson bringing the Message, and Rev. Harold Sutton having Obituary, Prayer, and Comments.  Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.  Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Saturday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2.  Due to the continuing COVID-19 Pandemic, and new regulations from our Governor on gatherings all who attend will be required to wear face mask and practice Social Distancing.
