Mr. Charles Manning age 91 of Trosper, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, June 18, 2022. He was the widow of Marian (Davis) Manning and the son of George and Ollie (Williams) Manning. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky and moved to Knox County in his early years. He was a member of the Old Ark House of Prayer and worked many years for Cadillac Motors. Charles enjoyed gardening and working outside; he loved to collect antiques and spend time with his kids and grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marian Manning, his parents, George and Ollie Manning, one daughter, Anita Jordan, five brothers, Fred, L.H., Glen, Duke, and James Manning and one sister, Mae Manning, two special sons-in-law, Bruce Miller and Rick Jordan.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his two daughters, Tammy Miller of Trosper and Crystal Cooke and husband Jamie of Gray, and Jimbo Davis and wife Lisa who he raised and thought of as his son. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren along with many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Manning will be conducted on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Eversole and Rev. Roy Eversole officiating. Pallbearers will be, Robert Brown, Dakota Phipps, Peyton Phipps, Dalton Mills, Waylon Miller, Matthew Jones, Jamie Cooke and Kyle Collins. He will be laid to rest in the Burch-Alford Cemetery at Artemus. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 4:00.
