Obituary for Charles “Charlie” Miracle (1954-2024)

Charles “Charlie” Miracle, 70, departed this life on September 15, 2024 at his home in Corbin, Ky.

Charles was born in Cumberland, Kentucky on September 7, 1954 to Clyde and Mary Miracle as a baby brother to four siblings. At a young age he was united in marriage to Wanda Helton and together they shared two children.

Over the years Charles became a Marine, a Truck Driver, and a Heavy Equipment Operator who was said by many to be “one of the best around.” Not only was he a great musician and vocalist whose talent would turn your head, his songwriting skills were equally impressive, crafting heartfelt lyrics that resonated with listeners.

When asked if Charles believed in God and Jesus, his response was a firm, “I don’t believe- I KNOW…” making it clear that he knew that once he left this Earth, his reward would be waiting for him in Heaven.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife Wanda (Helton) Miracle, parents Clyde and Mary (Davis) Miracle, siblings and their spouses who he loved like his own siblings, Hobert Miracle and wife Jane, Launa Pittser and husband Don, Nina Sowders and husband Earl, sister in law Gloria Miracle, and infant grandson Cambden Monroe.

Left to live with his memories are his son Charles Allen Miracle and wife Tina of Barbourville, daughter Laura Lea Cupp and husband Berry of London, big brother Dean Miracle of Corbin, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, his grandchildren/great grandchildren-in-love, and his dearest friends and comrades at Amvets.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2-5 pm at The AMVETS post 116 where he found support and refuge from life’s storms.

Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
