Cecil Joy Gray Haynes, 87, of Corbin left this earth for her eternal home with the Lord on December 1, 2021. Cecil passed away at home surrounded by her cherished family. Cecil was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ethel Smith born to them on August 4, 1934, in Indian Creek, Knox County, Kentucky.
Cecil worked for thirty years for Warners before retiring from the company. She was a dedicated member of East Side Tabernacle Church of God where she was passionate about singing in the choir and participating in Young at Heart. In her spare time, Cecil loved spending time with her family and reading her Bible.
In additional to her parents, Charlie Smith and Ethel Williams Smith, Cecil was preceded in death by her siblings; Ed Smith, Garfield Smith, Doris Murdock, Georgie Hix, Millie Campbell, Tracy Smith, Roberta Smith, and Edna Steele.
Cecil is survived by her daughters; Vickie Ore Cook (special friend Dearl Warren), Joyce Worley (Wayne), Jeannie Sullivan (Bill), Brenda Moore (Tim), and Debbie Swim (Ronnie) all of Corbin, Kentucky; one sister, Verl Wyatt (Will) also of Corbin, Kentucky; and eleven grandchildren: Joe Ore, Jr., Melissa Grubb, Wade Garland (Amanda), Kelli Lewis (Vince), Krista Paul (Jeffery), Justin Moore (Jessica), Ryan Swim (Angela), Cody Swim (Jona), Greg Worley (Lori), Nick Worley (Taylor), and April Gonzalez (Rey). Eighteen great grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive Cecil and will miss her dearly.
The Haynes Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Hopper Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Brother Albert Jones will officiate with musical tributes performed by Dennis Earley. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in the Smith Cemetery (Smith Hollow) at Indian Creek, Kentucky. Pallbearers are grandsons: Joe Ore, Wade Garland, Vince Lewis, Jeffrey Paul, Justin Moore, Cody Swim, Ryan Swim, Rey Gonzalez, and great grandsons: Tyler Grubb and Nick Ore.
