Cathy Dianne Phipps Brown, age 57 of Flat Lick was born in Corbin, KY on December 9, 1963 to the late Will Phipps, Jr. and Nora Hibbard Phipps and departed this life on September 30, 2021 at her home. She was a member of Browns Branch House of Prayer and enjoyed dancing, cooking, gardening, and time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, 3 brothers: David Phipps, Arvil “Tubby” Phipps, and Dallas Ray Phipps; and 1 sister: Carolyn Phipps preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children: Preston Lee Brown, Jr. of Turkey Creek, Misty Collins and husband Calvin of Flat Lick, Rita Brown and husband Jamie of Walker, KY, and Renae Rice and husband Randall of Himyar; 2 brothers: Dennis Lee Phipps and wife Judy Kay of Gray, and Daniel Boone Phipps of Barbourville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a special friend: Lisa Jones; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Cathy Brown will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Brown bringing the Message, Rev. Kenny Johnson having Obit and Prayer, and Rev. Alonzo Messer having Comments. Burial will follow in the Old Phipps Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 9 PM, and Monday from 10 AM to the funeral hour at 2.
