Mrs. Carrie Faye Baker, age 83 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at her home. She was the widow of Woodrow Baker and the daughter of Chester Hinkle and Odie Mae Smith Hinkle, born to them on January 2, 1941. Carrie believed in the Baptist faith and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She loved crafts, growing flowers and working in her garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Baker, her parents, Chester and Odie Mae Hinkle, one son Tony Curtis Baker, one grandson, Ryan Baker, four sisters, Cleo McVey, Alice Reynolds, Pauline Gray and Sue Ball, and three brothers, E.J. Hinkle, Vernon Hinkle and Elvert Hinkle.
Left behind to mourn her passing, one daughter, Debbie Wynn and husband Jimmy of Barbourville, one son, Jeffrey Baker and wife Tammy of Flat Lick, two grandchildren, Cassie Knuckles and husband Webb and Skyler Lenny Wynn and Vic, four great-grandchildren, Caleb Knuckles, Devin Knuckles, Hallie Shelton and husband Tyler and Cayden Baker and one great-great-grandchild, Reed Ely, one sister, Anne Creutz and husband Don Hoagland of Indiana and two brothers, Earnest Hinkle and wife Judy and V.A. Hinkle and wife Marlene all of Cincinnati. Carrie also leaves behind a host of many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Baker will be conducted on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Morris officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
