Obituary for Carolyn Jeree Roark (1947-2022)

Mrs. Carolyn Jeree Roark, 74, of Trosper, passed away Monday afternoon, February 21, 2022 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Benny and Phyllis Foley Campbell born on March 28, 1947 at Blackstar.

Carolyn was a devoted homemaker, former seamstress with Warner’s, former employee of the Knox County Board of Education and Datatrac.  She was a member of the Big Brush Creek Baptist Church, the Knox County Town & Country Homemakers and the Redbud Trail Quilt Guild.  She enjoyed reading, sewing and quilting.

On May 11, 1963, she united in marriage with Woodrow Roark Jr. and to this union four children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Shell; a great granddaughter, Hanna Grace Roark and parents-in-law, Woodrow Roark Sr. and Bessie Frederick Roark.

Survivors include her loving husband, Woodrow Roark Jr. of Trosper; beloved children, Jim Roark and wife, Joann, of Trosper, Tim Roark and wife, Leigh, of Barbourville,Denise Miller and husband, Denny Ray, of Bimble and Ragena Mills and husband, Larry, of Stinking Creek; a sister, Sharon Root and husband, Steve, of Corbin; a sister-in-law, Alma Martin of Artemus; a brother, Benne Allen Campbell and wife, Dena, of Gray; cherished grandchildren, Brandon Roark and wife, Donna, Stephanie McCreary and husband, John, Beth Lewis and husband, Matt, Taylor Rudd and husband, Steven, Brayden Roark, Whitney Gann and husband, Matt, Spencer Greer and wife, Lindsay, Lexi Greer, Coty Mills and wife, Fatima, and Ethan Mills; great grandchildren, Braxton McCreary, Jenna McCreary, Jaxton, McCreary, Jaeley McCreary, Katie Beth Lewis, Kenzie Lewis, Brandi Roark, Sophia Roark, D. J. Roark, Breanna Rudd, Harper Rudd, Grayson Rudd, Kylee Greer-Gann, Kenlee Gann, Kaden Greer, Kase Greer, Claira Greer, Emma Grace Mills and Maddox Mills; an aunt, Cheryl Yaden; loving nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, March 2 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Dale Phipps officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Tinsley Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Brandon Roark, Spencer Greer, Coty Mills, Brayden Roark, Ethan Mills and Braxton McCreary.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.
