Ms. Carol Jean Gray, 57, of Barbourville, passed away Monday afternoon, February 24, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of Ruth Marie Shalloe Jackson and the late John Tye Jackson on September 16, 1962 in Knox County.
Carol was a former Family Services Office Supervisor in Knox County with the Cabinet for Families and Children and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and swimming.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Jackson and a nephew, Robert Kyle Jackson.
Survivors include a daughter she dearly loved, Mary Elizabeth Gray of Barbourville; her mother, Ruth Jackson of Barbourville; three brothers, Robert Wayne Jackson of Corbin, Darrell Ray Jackson and wife, Vickie Lynn, of Bimble and Donnie Jackson of Barbourville; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, February 29 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Vernon Morris, Rev. Jim Bargo, Rev. Don Napier officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson-Turner Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
