Obituary for Carl Dewayne “Wayne” Hubbard (1962-2023)

Mr. Carl Dewayne “Wayne” Hubbard age 60 of Barbourville, departed this life on Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was born in Pineville, Kentucky on August 6, 1962, the son of Carl Hubbard and Billie Jean (Moyers) Hubbard and the husband of Pamela (Carnes) Hubbard. Wayne was a member of Boone’s Temple Pentecostal Church in Tennessee. He worked most of his life as an auto body repairman. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and being with his family, especially his grandson who was his whole world, Jonathan Carl Hubbard.

      He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Billie Jean Hubbard, his grandparents, Charles Henry and Martha Moyers, Albert and Pearlie Hubbard and great grandparents, Broney Berkley, uncles, Rod Moyers, Jim Hubbard, Dewey Hubbard, aunts Gladys Smith, Effie Brown, Eleanor Warren and Jill Lankford.

      Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Pamela Hubbard, his son, Carl Dewayne Hubbard, Jr. and wife Samantha, his very special grandson, Jonathan Carl Hubbard, a sister, Patricia Hubbard Owens, a nephew, Charles Dewayne Owens all of Barbourville, an uncle, Lonnie Hubbard of Scalf and an aunt, Bertha Blankenship of Walker Park, special brother, Curtis Brown and Tristan Brown who he loved like a son. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

      Funeral services for Mr. Hubbard will be conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Dean officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Carl Hubbard, Lonnie Hubbard and Michael Hubbard, Pallbearers will be, Carl Dewayne Hubbard, Jr., Charles Dewayne Owens, Curtis Brown, Tristan Brown, Gary Hamilton, Carter Hughes, Terry Hubbard and Sammie Carnes. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the Barbourville Cemetery beside his mother and father.
