Mr. Carl Collins, age 70, of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Hazard ARH in Hazard, Kentucky. He was the son of the late William Nicolas Babe and Mildred (Baker) Collins, born to them on December 17, 1949 in Artemus, Kentucky. Carl was a coal miner and enjoyed racing cars, playing cards and gardening.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents William Nicolas Babe and Mildred Collins, and his wife, Watheda McKinney, brothers Leonard Collins and William Collins, and a sister, Sue Collins.
Left behind to mourn his passing are his wife, Rebecca Hale, daughters, Karla Simmons and her husband, Ford, of Knox County, Kentucky, and Jennifer McVay and her husband ,Jessie, of Bimble, Kentucky, and grandchildren, Jessie Carl McVey, Jennifer McVey, Joseph Simmons, Brittnay Smith and Destiney Simmons
Funeral services for Mr. Carl Collins will be conducted on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Silvester Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins-McVey Cemetery at Turkey Creek, Kentucky. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home Monday, January 6, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 8, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m.
