Obituary for Brenda Brown McVey (1961-2020)

Mrs. Brenda (Brown) McVey age 58 of Bimble, Kentucky, passed away on August 6, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.  She was the wife of Jessie McVey and the daughter of Ford and Dorothy Brown, born to them on November 8, 1961.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Ford & Dorothy Brown, one brother Roy Brown and two sisters, Joyce Lowe and Sundine Nottingham.

Left behind to mourn her passing, her husband, Jessie McVey of Bimble, Kentucky, four sons, Jessie McVey and wife Jennifer of Turkey Creek, Scotty McVey and wife Kayla of Bimble, Jeffrey McVey of Flat Lick and Jason McVey and wife Tonia Roark of Bimble, two daughters, Amy Elliott and husband Rick and Angel Bays and husband Kenneth all of Bimble, two brothers, Bleve Brown of Bimble and Jamie Brown, five sisters, Virginia Neal of East Bernstadt, Teresa Lambert and husband Tommy of Hinkle, Debbie Simmons of Barbourville, Ruby Broughton and husband Quentin of Barbourville and Heather Melfi and husband William of Brownstown, Michigan. She also leaves behind twenty-one grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda McVey will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  She will be laid to rest in the Collins-McVey Cemetery at Turkey Creek with pallbearers being sons and grandsons.

Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.

Please remember, during the ongoing pandemic, there will be capacity restrictions and social distancing guidelines that we will need to follow during all our services. This will include wearing a face covering as mandated by the Governor of Kentucky for the safety of our families, visitors and staff.
