Bobbie Jo Hale Doolin age 69 of Heidrick departed this life on Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1955, in Knox County, the daughter of Myrl and Mae (Broughton) Hale. On August 4, 1973, she united in marriage with Frankie Doolin and to this union two daughters were born. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Barbourville. She loved painting, playing cards, the Kentucky Wildcats, the CRACKS (her besties), and entertaining family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Doolin, parents, Myrl and Mae (Broughton) Hale, her mother and father-in-law Sterling and Mary (Abner) Doolin, two sisters, Ruby Hale Davis, Betty Sue Hale, three brothers-in-law, Frankie Root, Kevin Doolin, and Mike Abner, a nephew, Donnie Tarlton Lawson, a great niece, Presley James Doolin, along with several aunts, uncles and other loved ones.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her two daughters, Preshus (Doolin) Howard and husband Billy of Heidrick and Ashley Doolin and George Messer of Bimble, a granddaughter, Raegan Howard of Heidrick, three sisters, Myrlyn Lawson and husband Don of Barbourville, Stella Abner of Artemus, Karen Carrico and husband Tom of Spring Hill, Tennessee, two brothers, Leroy Hale and wife Ima of Corbin, Lewis Hale and wife Retha of London, two sisters-in-law, Jackie Root of Girdler and Kathy Doolin of Heidrick, and one brother-in-law, Mike Doolin and wife Kopie of Girdler. Bobbie also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many other relatives and friends that are too numerous to list.
A celebration of Bobbie’s life will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Barbourville with Pastor Greg McClellan presiding. Family & friends are invited to share a memory or tell a story of Bobbie if they would like during the Celebration. Bobbie was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan and in her honor the family would like everyone to wear Kentucky Blue to Celebrate her memory.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family has requested that donations be made in her honor to the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates or the First Christian Church in Barbourville or to the Donnie Lawson & Jonathan Drue Anderson Memorial Endowment fund at Union Commonwealth University (Union College).
