Mr. Billy D. Valentine, 78, of Springfield, OH, formerly of Heidrick, passed away Tuesday morning, January 18, 2022 at the Arbors of Springfield. He was the son of the late Bowlen Green and Josephine Crain Valentine born on February 27, 1943 in Knox County.
Billy was a former business owner and served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed collecting rocks, fossils, coins and photographing nature.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shaun Valentine and a sister, Carol Ann Johnson.
Survivors include two beloved children, Kimberly Long of Suffolk, VA and Mae D. Mefford and husband, Scott, of Springfield, OH; two sisters, Donna Sue Valentine of Bailey Switch and Tammy Kay Valentine of Heidrick; a brother, Steven C. Valentine and wife, Sheri, of Barbourville; treasured grandchildren, Bailey Mefford, Jamie Wilcher and husband, Steven, Lacey Harrelson and husband, Tanner, and Lindsey Arnette; great grandchildren, River Wilcher, Wyatt, Zoey and Mason Tucker, Hailey and Connor Arnette; a special cousin, James Keys and wife, Betty; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A private family funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, January 26 with Pastor Craig Valentine officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Patterson Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
