Mrs. Beverly Sue Nelson, 74, of Artemus, passed away Tuesday evening, February 28, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Ezra Wayman and Mable Mills Pierce born on February 27, 1949 at Artemus.
Sue was a former physical therapist, a member of City of Hope Church in Manchester and a former member of the Artemus Christian Church. She enjoyed antiquing, raising sheep and tending her flowers. Most of all, Sue treasured time with her family.
On July 3, 1967, she united in marriage with Lee Roy Nelson and to this union two children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald E. Pierce.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 55 years, Lee Roy Nelson of Artemus; two beloved children, Brian Nelson and wife, Michelle, and Amy L. Nelson all of Artemus; a sister, Mary Ann Patterson and husband, Roy, of Macon, GA; a special brother-in-law, Ernest Nelson; cherished grandchildren, Jacob and wife, Jordan, Tawney and fiancé, Zach, Macey, Korie, Sarah and Harley; a great grandson, Deacon Jace Nelson; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, March 5 at 5 P.M. with Rev. Clay Bishop officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday after 4 P.M. until the funeral hour.
