Mrs. Betty J. Hildebrand, 84, of Barbourville, passed away Sunday evening, August 25, 2024 at Baptist Health Corbin. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Thelma Wise Davis born on April 13, 1940 in Stratford, OK.
Betty was a former nursing assistant and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Barbourville, where she enjoyed serving in the church nursery. She also enjoyed quilting, decorating her home, tending flowers and babysitting.
In May 1958, she united in marriage with Rev. Donald James Hildebrand III and to this union five children were born.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Sheila Cheves, Carolyn Lotz and Debra Willoughby and a great granddaughter, Dannie Kate Carpenter.
Survivors include her loving children, Jeffery Hildebrand of Corbin, Rick Hildebrand and wife, Cindy, of Barbourville, Marjory Eaton of Randolph, TX, Dawn Baker and husband, Danny, of Barbourville and Caleb Hildebrand and wife, Brandy, of Lexington; a brother-in-law, Craig Lotz of Crescent, OK; nine grandchildren, John Jeffery Hildebrand and wife, Denise, Jordan Eaton and wife, Erika, Akasha Hines and husband, Braxton, Leah Eaton, Christopher Hildebrand and wife, Amber, Joshua Hildebrand and wife, Sarah, Courtney Baker, Cassidy Carpenter and husband, Jarrett, and Lotus Hildebrand; 11 great grandchildren, Landon, Kristin, Jaxson, Evie, Josie, Rylan, Addalyn, Weston, Naomi, Alexis and Dalton; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at the New Bethel Cemetery Sunday, September 1 at 2 P.M. with Dr. Tom Ashburn officiating.
Casket bearers will be John Jeffery Hildebrand, Jordan Eaton, Christopher Hildebrand, Joshua Hildebrand, Landon Hildebrand, Dalton Smith and Jarrett Carpenter.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday between 12 and 1:30 P.M. at which time family and friends will travel in procession to the cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
