Mrs. Betty H. Smith, 92, of Corbin, formerly of Bimble, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 23, 2019 at the Corbin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Mollie Hale Hammons born on April 7, 1927 in Knox County.
Betty was a homemaker and a member of the New Girdler Holiness Church. In earlier years, she enjoyed tending flowers, gardening and quilting.
On October 5, 1946, she united in marriage with James Smith and to this union a son was born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James and several sisters and brothers.
Survivors include her son, James Smith Jr. and wife, Sue, of Gray; a sister, Charity Crawford; four grandchildren, Ginger Harp and husband, Richard, Chris Smith and wife, Tammy, Lisa Mills and Jill DeBore and husband, Josh; seven great grandchildren, Whitney Finley and husband, Ryan, Zackary Smith and wife, Chelsea, Allison Smith, Alexis Brown, Rachel Harp, Joshua Harp and Olan Brown; four great-great granddaughters, Ella Smith, Hayden, Paisley and Kinsley Finley; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, October 27 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charles Bright and Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Henry Mills Cemetery at Hammond.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday after 12 noon until the funeral hour.
