Mr. Ben Mills, Jr. age 83 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, April 16, 2021 in Lexington. He was the son of Ben Mills and Hallie Smith Mills born to them on February 27, 1938 in Salt Gum, KY. He united in marriage with Armarita Bush and to this union three children were born. Ben was a school bus driver for twenty-three years in Knox County and prior to that he had worked at McCalls in Ohio. Ben enjoyed painting, gardening and working on his farm and playing guitar after teaching himself to play.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Hallie Mills, one son Gregory Ben Mills, three brothers, C.T. Mills, Don Mills and Lonnie Mills and two sisters, Beulah Smith and Diane Robinson.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife of sixty-four years, Armarita Mills, one daughter, Kathy Bingham and husband Lowell, and one son Michael Curtis Mills all of Flat Lick, three grandchildren, Matthew Bingham and Samantha Jones and husband Christopher all also of Flat Lick and Benjamin Mills and friend Liz Collins of Heidrick, two great grandchildren, Talon Mills and Christopher Jones, four sisters, Ora Lee Puckett of Turkey Creek, Bonnie Neely and husband Jim of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Norma Jean Rawlings and husband Bob of Troy, Ohio and Anna Sue Mills and husband Randall Wayne of Carlisle, Ohio. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Ben Mills, Jr. will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. Donnie Mills officiating. Pallbearers will be, Matthew Bingham, Cody Hammons, Lowell Bingham, Christopher Jones, Kenny Wynn, Benjamin Mills and Glen Mills. He will be laid to rest in the Long Tom Mills Cemetery at Salt Gum. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
