Ms. Axie Bargo, 82, of Barbourville, passed away Monday evening, March 17, 2025 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. She was born September 18, 1942 in Knox County to the late Garrett and Sudie Mills Bargo.
Axie was a retired seamstress with Warner’s and a member of the Antioch United Baptist Church. She enjoyed working word search puzzles, trips to Dollywood and was an avid UK Basketball fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Onylee Mills, Joyce Maxie, Earmalee Grubb and Jewel Senters and brothers, Haston, Garrett Jr., Arvilee, Elbert and J. D. Bargo.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Sudie Kay Wilson and husband, Ronnie Joe, of Barbourville; brothers, Boad Bargo and wife, Billie Joyce, and Joe Bargo all of Barbourville; several special nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, March 23 at 2 P.M. with Rev. William R. “Man” Cobb and Scott Hammons officiating.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
