Barbourville, Ky. – Arnold Branstutter, 80, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Barbourville, passed away March 6, 2021. Arnold was the son of Francis Potter Branstutter and William “Bill” Reed Branstutter, joyfully born to them on September 11, 1940 in Bell County Kentucky.
Arnold loved the outdoors. Feeding the squirrels and birds and watching the deer brought him great pleasure. He also enjoyed bowling, playing checkers, traveling, watching westerns and cheering on the UK basketball team. His favorite foods were chili dogs, Grippos potato chips and chocolate peanut butter pie from Schmuckers, a famous Toldedo Deli. His greatest delight however, was being with family: his brothers, nieces and nephews and especially his grandchildren, Tristin and Riley Kruse.
On August 7, 1993, Arnold married Judy Medley. Together, Arnold and Judy made a beautiful life together, in Toldedo.
Judy and the Branstutter family would like to recognize and give a special thank you to all who helped Arnold fight his battle against Parkinson’s for the last twenty-two years including The Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Elmer’s Office, Special Therapists: Ashley and Andrea, and the love, and the support and prayers of the members of The Heritage Church of God.
In addition to his parents, Francis Potter Branstutter and William “Bill” Branstutter, Arnold was preceded in death by an infant brother, Marvin Branstutter, and six brothers and three sisters-in-law: Earnest and Mae Licklighter, Alford and Wilma Jean Branstutter; Randall and Juanita Branstutter, Willie Dean Branstutter, Jack Branstutter, and Doug Branstutter.
Left behind to celebrate Arnold’s life is his beloved wife, Judy Branstutter; his step-daughter and niece, Alicia Branstutter Kruse (Jered); and his brother Roy Branstutter (Mamie). Sisters-in-law, Edna Branstutter, Shirley Branstutter, and Winona Medley, and three brothers-in-law: Phillip Medley, Walter Medley, and Daniel Medley, as well as two cherished grandchildren, Tristin Kruse and Riley Kruse also will miss Mr. Branstutter dearly.
Visitation for Mr. Branstutter will be held, Monday, March 15, from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M. at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Leonard Lester will officiate. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service in the Glasscock Cemetery, South Route 11, Barbourville. The family has chosen the following Casket Bearers: Ancil Hall, Scotty Licklighter, Bill Branstutter, Roy J. Branstutter, Michael Branstutter, and Shawn Smith.
