Mrs. Anna Ruth Burnett, age 83 of Heidrick, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, May 10, 2024 in the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of James and Arizona Doolin, born to them on December 28, 1940. She united in marriage with Arvil “Argie” Burnett and to this union two children were born. Anna retired from American Greeting in Corbin and was a member of the New Life Worship Center in London. She dearly loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Arizona Doolin, her husband Argie and eight siblings, Aline Payne, Roetta Brock, Florence Hembree, Debra Soper, Larry Doolin, Sterling Doolin, Shirley Doolin and Herman Doolin.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her two children, Melanie Hoskins and Rev. Herby Hoskins of London, and Mark Burnett of Heidrick, three grandchildren, Billy Hoskins, Wesley Hoskins and Peyton Smith, four great-grandchildren, Zoey Hoskins, Boston Hoskins, Bentley Hoskins and Brooklyn Hoskins, two sisters, June Pickard and husband Don of Barbourville and Helen Abner of Heidrick, one brother, Terry Doolin and wife Mary Etta of Barbourville and a brother-in-law, Richard Soper of Heidrick. Anna also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Doolin Cemetery in Heidrick with Rev. Duke Hammons and Rev. Herby Hoskins officiating. Pallbearers will be Dion Pickard, James Michael Doolin, Brandon Abner, Bradley Abner, Adam Soper, Wayne Abner and E.G. Abner. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
