Mrs. Anna Mae Messer age 80 of Walker, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in the Barbourville ARH. She was the widow of Waymond Messer and the daughter of Eli Carnes and Martha (Mills) Carnes. She was born on January 27, 1940 in Walker, Kentucky. She was a member of the Walker Missionary Baptist Church.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents and husband along with two brothers, Harold Carnes and Jake Carnes two sisters, Minnie Carnes and Ruby Carter and one grandchild, Bridget Penn.
Left behind to mourn her passing, two sons, Robbie Messer and wife Betty of Bimble and Dickie Messer and wife Mitzi of Walker, three daughters, Debbie Messer of Walker, Patricia Watts and husband Sam of Artemus and Peggy Smith and husband Terry of Mt. Sterling, Michigan, one brother, Sammy Carnes and wife Sherry of Walker and four sisters, Wanda Mills of Bimble, Norma Taylor of Corbin, Pam Hubbard and husband Wayne of Barbourville and Tammy Jones of Corbin, her grandchildren, Shannon Mills, Jeremy Messer, Crystal Edwards, Daniel Edwards, Ashley Cullum, Terry Dewayne Smith, Frankie Messer, Tyler Messer, Jimberly Watts, Samuel Watts, Brandy Messer, Dustin Messer and Shae Disney, her great grandchildren, Whitney Abdzur, Kourtlin Mills, Maddox Messer, Mia Messer, Marley Messer, Aden Penn, Brently Penn, Autumn Napier, Madison Edwards, Logan Edwards, Ava Cullum, Blake Cullum, Marissa Smith, Emma Messer, Bently Messer and Mackenzie Messer. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for a short visitation before leaving for the cemetery. She will be laid to rest in the Messer Cemetery at Walker, Kentucky with pallbearers being family.
There will be capacity restrictions and face coverings will be required as well as social distancing guidelines of six feet apart. This will need to be followed during all our services. This is for the safety of our families, visitors’ and staff to prevent the spread of Covid 19.
