Mr. Alton Junior Valentine, 75, of Jarvis Branch, passed away Sunday morning, March 3, 2024 at Baptist Health Corbin. He was the son of the late Alton Gorman and Cecil Jackson Valentine born on August 30, 1948 in Knox County.
Alton was a former employee of Tremco and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Don Valentine.
Survivors include his life partner, Clara Tress Davidson of Jarvis; a daughter, Angela Smith and husband, Gilbert of London; sisters, Nannie Mae Smith and husband, Herbert of Barbourville, Beulah Campbell and husband, Earl, of Heidrick, Thressa Valentine of Manchester, Dianna Wagers and husband, Wayne, of Heidrick, Brenda Kay Valentine of Barbourville, Barbara Eberle and husband, Todd, of Lafayette, IN and Marilyn Bright and husband, John, of Daleville, VA; brothers, Clarence Valentine, Ernie Joe Valentine and wife, Kathy, of Heidrick, Leroy Valentine and wife, Rhonda, of Rossville, IN, Eugene Valentine and wife, Barb, of Lafayette, IN and Ralph Valentine of Lafayette, IN; treasured grandchildren, Joseph Smith and wife, Britny, Scott Smith, Alexus and Christian Bunch and Paislee and Khloe Davidson; a great grandson, Silas Grant; several nieces and nephews; a special uncle, Randall Jackson; special friends, Joe Jones and Steve Smith; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, March 8 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Brian Davidson and Rev. Joe Jones officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Joey Smith, Scott Smith, Steve Smith, Christian Bunch, Shawn Smith and Vincent Smith. Serving as honorary bearers will be Terry Doolin and Joe Jones.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
