Alice Mills, age 73 of Pineville, KY, won her victory after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Alice was born May 18, 1947 in Leslie Co, KY, to the late Joseph and Lucy Saylor Brock. Alice was a loving dedicated nurse for 33 years at Pineville Community Hospital and was known for her humble, loving kindness. she graduated in 1974 from the Pineville School of Nursing as a licensed LPN. she was a faithful member of Old Straight Creek Trinity Tabernacle; she loved the Lord and to sing and work as a nurse and care for her patients but mostly she loved her children and was a precious mother.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Mac Mills; special nephew Ernest Brock; sisters Zola Brock, Vina Smith and Judy Brock; brothers Jonathan Brock, Dewey Brock and Arvill Brock.
Survivors include her children, Tim and wife Patti Brock of Corbin, KY; daughter Angie Jones of Pineville, KY; grandson who was her pride and joy, Jeremiah Brock; sisters Phronia Parker of South Carolina, Oma Helton of Kettle Island, KY and Mary Middleton of Barbourville, KY; special nephew and niece, Aaron Sinkhorn and Brittany Smith; sister-in-law Sue Hostetter of Clearwater, Fla,; special friend Brenda Saylor. Dalton Bruce, Jessie Bruce and James Halcomb whom she loved as grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after 6pm of Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home until 9PM.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 1PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Grubbs and Rev. Herman Denny with music by OSTTC; burial will follow in the Judi Cemetery, Leslie Co, KY with Jeremiah Brock, Aaron Sinkhorn, Edward Barnett, Ernie Brock, Dalton Bruce and James Halcomb as pallbearers.
