PARTIN, John Thomas (1943 – 2019)
Mr. John Thomas Partin, 75, of Barbourville, passed away Thursday evening, October 17, 2019 at his home. He was the son of the late Perry Lee Partin and Gladys Emma Poff Partin Kroll born on October 23, 1943 in Knox County.
He was a former coal company electrician and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed flying planes and riding his motorcycle. He faithfully served his country in the Kentucky Army National Guard.
In January 1964, he united in marriage with Brenda Lenore Smith and to this union two daughters were born. Later in November 1982, he united in marriage with Linda Bargo and to this union a daughter was born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Youngdale.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Partin, of Barbourville; three daughters, Kimberly Ann Payne and husband, David, of Bimble, Michelle Winchester and husband, Paul, of Corbin and Johnnie Rae Peters and husband, Tim, of Barbourville; a sister, Wanda Jean Smith and husband, Ron, of Oklahoma; a brother, Charles Bennett of Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tiffany and husband, Brandon, Megan and husband, Rex, David Ryan, Jerry Paul, Shelby, Timothy and Thomas; two great grandchildren, Luke and Bentley; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, October 22 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Lonnie Collett and Rev. Eli Broughton officiating. He will be laid to rest in the J. T. Partin Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Tuesday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
