FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 8, 2020) –Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the Honorable Melissa Moore Murphy to the office of District Judge for the 22nd Judicial District, Division 4, of Kentucky.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the Honorable David Allen Barber to the office of Circuit Judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit, Division 2, of Kentucky.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the Honorable Joe Christopher McNeill to the office of Judge of the Court of Appeals for the 1st Appellate District, Division 1, of Kentucky.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the Honorable Christopher Bryan Oglesby to the office of Circuit Judge for the 4th Judicial Circuit, Division 1, of Kentucky.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Dr. Wayne Tuckson, Mary Woolridge, Diana Woods, Dr. Walter Malone and Dr. Charisse Brown Gillett as members of the Kentucky African American Heritage Commission.
- Dr. Wayne Tuckson of Louisville is a physician at the University of Louisville. He replaces Richard Fowler, whose term expired. Dr. Tuckson shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2024. He will also serve as Vice-Chair of the Commission.
- Mary Woolridge of Louisville replaces Lawrence Bennett, whose term expired. Ms. Woolridge shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2024.
- Diana Woods of Lexington is a retired school superintendent. She replaces Chester Kavanaugh, whose term expired. Ms. Woods shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2024.
- Dr. Walter Malone of Louisville is a pastor at Canaan Christian Church. He replaces Loomy Danso, whose term expired. Dr. Malone shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2024.
- Dr. Charisse Brown Gillett of Lexington is an educator at the Lexington Theological Seminary. She fills a vacant seat and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Feb. 1, 2021.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Alan Leavitt, Dr. Naveed Chowhan, Jonathan Rabinowitz and Ed Worley as members of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. He has also reappointed Charlie O’Connor and Lesley Howard.
- Alan Leavitt of Lexington is a horse breeder. He replaces Patrick Day, whose term expired. Mr. Leavitt shall serve for a term expiring Apr. 27, 2024.
- Dr. Naveed Chowhan of Louisville is a physician. He replaces Lesley Ann Howard, whose term expired. Dr. Chowhan shall serve for a term expiring Apr. 27, 2024
- Jonathan Rabinowitz of Versailles is an attorney at Morgan & Morgan, PLLC. He replaces Brereton Jones, whose term expired. Mr. Rabinowitz shall serve for a term expiring Apr. 27, 2024. He shall also serve as Chair of the Commission.
- James Edwin Worley of Lexington is a general contractor for and owner of WG&T Builders Inc. He replaces James Richardson, whose term expired. Mr. Worley shall serve for a term expiring Apr. 27, 2024.
- Charles O’Connor of Versailles has been reappointed to serve for a term expiring Apr. 27, 2024
- Lesley Howard of Lexington has been reappointed to serve for a term expiring Apr. 27, 2021.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Houston Barber as a member of the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation Board of Directors.
- Houston Barber of Frankfort is the superintendent at Frankfort Independent Schools. He replaces Randall Fox, who has resigned. Dr. Barber shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 5, 2021.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Chris Pyles as a member of the State Board of Physical Therapy.
- Christopher Pyles of Rineyville is a physical therapist and director of business development at PT Pros, Inc. He replaces Ron Pavkovich, who has resigned. Dr. Pyles shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Apr. 30, 2021.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Tony Colyer as a member of the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance.
- Tony Colyer of Louisville is an attorney at the Colyer Law Firm, PLLC. He replaces Elizabeth Weber, whose term expired. Mr. Colyer shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 15, 2023.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Dr. Steven Harrell as a member of the Colon Cancer Screening Advisory Committee.
- Dr. Steven Harrell of Louisville is a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Health Partners. He replaces Kent Savage, who has resigned. Dr. Harrell shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 15, 2022.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Avery Matney, Jr., Harold Stilts, Ken Parsons and John Wilson as members of the Kentucky State Board on Electric Generation and Transmission Siting.
- Avery Kenneth Matney, Jr. of Center represents the residents of Metcalfe County.
- County Judge/Executive Harold Stilts of Edmonton represents Metcalfe County.
- Kenneth Parsons of Lancaster represents the residents of Garrard County.
- County Judge/Executive John Wilson of Lancaster represents Garrard County.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Austin Vowels, Bernie Mason and Rick Fyffe as members of the Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. He has also reappointed Tommy Fridy.
- Austin Vowels of Henderson is the City Commissioner of the City of Henderson and an attorney at Vowels Law PLC. He replaces Oda Inglis, whose term expired. Mr. Vowels shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 21, 2021.
- Bernie Mason of Ashland is in the coal industry. He replaces Dewey Bocook, whose term expired. Mr. Mason shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 21, 2022.
- Rick Fyffe of Ashland is a retired oil and natural gas engineer. He replaces Donald Wallen, whose term expired. Mr. Fyffe shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 21, 2022.
- Tommy Fridy of Sebree shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 21, 2024.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Andrew Baskin as a member of the Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage.
- Andrew Baskin of Berea is an educator at Simmons College of Kentucky. He replaces Roger Cleveland, whose term has expired. Mr. Baskin shall serve for a term expiring June 8, 2023.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed John Rosenberg as a member of the Public Advocacy Commission.
- John Rosenberg of Prestonsburg is an attorney. He shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jeremy Hensley as a member of the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.
- Jeremy Hensley of Milton is a paramedic for Louisville Metro EMS. He replaces Ashley Powell, whose term expired. Mr. Hensley shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 19, 2023.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Tony White, Mark Kleiner and Mary Easterling as members of the Kentucky State Corrections Commission.
- Henry Anthony White of Morehead is a national outreach and engagement specialist at the Fletcher Group. He replaces Barbara Ellerbrook, whose term expired. Mr. White shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2023.
- Mark Kleiner of Prospect is the President of Preferred Insurance Group. He replaces Paula Pedigo, whose term expired. Mr. Kleiner will serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2023.
- Mary Easterling of Louisville is a community volunteer and small business owner. She replaces Jason Crockett, whose term expired. Ms. Easterling will serve for a term expiring Feb. 17, 2023.
Gov. Beshear has appointed LaCosta Hays as a member of the Public Advocacy Commission.
- LaCosta Hays of Murray is the Executive Coordinator of Client & Community Relations for McConnell Insurance Agency. She replaces Crystal Rae Coel, whose term has expired. Ms. Hays shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Dr. Rodney Casada as a member of the Board of Directors of the Employers’ Mutual Insurance Authority.
- Dr. Rodney Casada of Somerset is a chiropractor at Wilbert Vault of Somerset. He replaces Leon Clark Williams, who has resigned. Dr. Casada shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2023.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Margaret Meredith and Zachary Casa as members of the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology.
- Margaret Meredith of Harrodsburg is a CPA. She shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2022.
- Zachary Casa of Lexington is a salon owner and cosmetologist. He shall serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2022.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Michael Fein, Heather Hornsby and Sherri Anderson as members of the Statewide Independent Living Council.
- Michael Fein of Lexington is a consultant. He replaces Dusty Embury, who has resigned. Mr. Fein shall serve the remainder of the unexpired term ending May 20, 2020.
- Heather Hornsby of Independence replaces Dale Kite, who is deceased. She shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending May 20, 2022.
- Sherri Anderson of Louisville is a social worker at the KYOVR McDowell Center. She replaces Shari Polur, whose term has expired. Ms. Anderson shall serve for a term expiring May 20, 2021.
