Mr. Gary Wayne Medlin, 25, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, January 16, 2019. He was the son of Daniel Medlin Jr. and Brandy Lawson Frechette born on March 16, 1993 in Corbin.
Gary was a heavy equipment operator with Eldridge Excavating and attended the Free Spirit Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and working on vehicles.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Whitley Paige Medlin and his grandfathers, Ronnie Lynn Hensley and Lewis Branstutter.
Survivors include his wife, Mindy Medlin of Girdler; his parents, Daniel Medlin and wife, Carmen, of Barbourville and Brandy Lawson Frechette and husband, Thomas, of Lexington; two children, Jaxon Blake Medlin and Bentley Ray Medlin both of Girdler; three sisters, Brooklyn Danyale Young and husband, Anthony, of Girdler, Samantha Nicole Corey and fiancé, Michael, of Blackwater and Kierra Middleton of Gray; four brothers, Christopher Middleton and wife, Whitney, of Berea, Joshua Corey of Barbourville, Keaton Lawson of Gray and Hayden Frechette of Woodbine; his nephews, Carson Young, Bentley Middleton and Maverick Brock; grandparents, Daniel and Brenda Medlin and Karen and Eddie Hollingsworth; several aunts, uncles and other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, January 22 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Roger Liford officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Gray Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Scott Tyler Gilliam, Michael Norris, Aaron Laughead, Bentley Medlin, Dylan Mills, Timmy Miracle and Elijah Broughton. Serving as an honorary bearer will be Shane Partin.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Tuesday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
