The Barbourville Board of Education issued a statement today thanking the community for donating time, money and efforts to keep the children of the school district safe. The statement said the BIS plan of action for school safety will be to install metal detectors and have a safety officer on campus. The release stated, “We feel accepting these donations to install metal detectors and place a safety officer on our campus will be the most productive at deterring violence and preventing danger from entering our premises.”
